Looking at old family photos I came across a small 2 x 3 inch black and white photo of my husband's cousin, Tina Wykes Barnes. I thought what fun it would be to bring it to life, especially since Tina had made a career of dance. This was the first time I used a black and white photo to produce a full color painting. Bringing this 50 year old photo to life was a delight, and what fun it was to surprise Tina with the finished product. At that time I discovered that the photo was especially meaningful to Tina because her mother had made the dress.
