Walt Wykes - my eldest son
My eldest son Walt, a graduate of the MFA playwriting program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, is an actor and a playwright. He has written approximately 2 dozen one act plays, 8 full length plays, and numerous other shorter pieces. His full length play Certificate of Death, winner of Playmarket (2009) and Texas Playwriting Competition (2009) had a reading at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, an off Broadway theater in New York, in 2009. His short play Family 2.0 was adapted into a short film starring Christopher Atkins and directed by Chris Redish. The film premiered at the Sedona Film Festival 2011. In 2010 there were 105 authorized productions of Walt's work around the world, including the United States, Canada, India, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand Great Britain, Romania, Chile, Germany, and South Korea.
