In the spring of 2010 my husband and I took our youngest granddaughter with us to visit Argyle Acres Iris Garden in Argyle, Texas. I captured this expression on her face as she contemplated what to photograph next and decided to frame her with irises. In this painting, I began to move away from attention to ALL detail, and consciously worked to create a strong focal point. Though quite the challenge for me, I was pleased with the results.
